Fatie Atkinson

Fatie has worked with wood for almost twenty years. His passion for exploring design and collaborating with others drives him. He graduated from Haywood Community College’s Professional Craft program in Wood in 2005 under Wayne Raab. After entering a design show to reimage the Adirondack Chair, he was invited to teach a course at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and his design was included in their permanent collection. He has also taught at Warren Wilson College, including a class on shop safety incorporating his one legged stool and a class on designing and building benches. He was recognized with a Niche award in 2006 for his Tuxedo chair and is represented by Grovewood Gallery.
