On Campus Course FAQs
What dates are the courses offered?
Our weekend courses will be held March 22-23 and May 17-18 and our week-long courses, May 12-16 and 19-23 and July 7-11 and 14-18.
When and where are courses held?
Our weekend courses are held Saturday and Sunday, with the week-long courses running Monday through Friday, from 9:00am-3:00pm. Depending on the topic, you may be meeting in craft or art studios, classrooms, or in the campus forest or fields.
When will I receive detailed information about the course?
All course participants will be emailed detailed information regarding additional course information, housing and meals (if opting in), arrival and parking instructions by March 1st for the March weekend course, May 1st for the May courses and by June 1st for the July courses.
How do I register and make the payment for my course?
To register for a specific course, choose from the categories of on-campus courses, navigate the links to the Course page you desire and select the “Register Now” button. This will take you to a registration form that will collect your personal information, course selection, housing and meal preferences and be taken to a Payment page.
You'll receive an email confirmation of your course selection and housing and meal choices (if you're opting in).
Please check your Spam or Junk folder for email communications from Mountain Institute to avoid missing invoices and other important information.
Payment is due upon receipt otherwise your place in the course may not be confirmed.

Where can I stay while I’m participating in an on-campus course?
March Session -
There will be limited on-campus housing during the May sessions at the St Clair Guest House and meals in the college dining hall will be available.
May Sessions -
There will be limited on-campus housing during the May sessions at the St Clair Guest House but meals in the college dining hall will be not available.
July Sessions -
Housing and meals are available during the July sessions.*
Accommodations will be in the residence halls; rooms consist of two single beds, desks and wardrobes with common areas and shared restrooms located down the hallway. Room assignments will be made by gender. If you'd like to share a room with another participant the same week, please note that in the appropriate section on the registration form.
All housing reservations include a weekly meal plan (all meals from Sunday supper - Saturday breakfast).
Housing options:

Meal options*:
- as weekly meal plan packaged with on-campus housing reservations in July
- as a weekly meal plan for those not staying on campus ($195)

Meal pricing:

- breakfast - $10.25
- lunch - $12.25
- supper - $14.25
If you are local to Asheville, you can plan to commute to campus each day for class and there will be ample parking on campus. If you are traveling from elsewhere, there are many lodging options available through Airbnb in the area. We also have discounted rates at nearby hotels (be sure to ask about discounts for folks associated with Warren Wilson College). Please plan to have access to a car in order to come to campus each day (there is no public transportation that will get you to campus).
What meals will be included in the program?
The Gladfelter Dining Hall will be open during the March session. Participants in the May sessions are encouraged to provide their own lunches.
In July, on-campus meals will be available as a package with housing or as a weekly meal pass or individual meals for those staying off campus (see above). Gladfelter Dining Hall caters to a multitude of dietary needs and requests.
How many participants are needed to fill the course and what happens if there aren’t enough?
To be held, the courses need a minimum of 6 participants. If a course is canceled due to low enrollment, all payments will be fully refunded.
What is your cancellation policy?
March registrants are eligible for a full refund if they notify us, in writing, about their withdrawal on or before March 1st, minus a $25 administrative fee.
May registrants are eligible for a full refund if they notify us, in writing, about their withdrawal on or before April 15th, minus a $25 administrative fee. If registrants withdraw after April 15th (but before the first day of classes), they will receive a 50% refund. No refund is available once the course has started.
July registrants are eligible for a full refund if they notify us in writing about their withdrawal on or before June 15th, minus a $25 administrative fee. If registrants withdraw after June 15th (but before the first day of classes), they will receive a 50% refund. No refund is available once the course has started.

What is the refund policy if the course is cancelled due to low enrollment or other causes related to the program?
Registrants are eligible for a full refund if the course isn't able to be held due to low enrollment. Courses will be confirmed and participants notified by March 1 for March weekend courses, April 15 for the May courses and by June 15 for the July courses.
I really want to participate but the course fees are out of my reach. Do you offer discounts, scholarships or work exchange options?
We don’t currently offer scholarships or work exchange but plan to discuss it for the future. Current WWC students, staff, faculty and alumni are eligible for a 20% discount off the base cost. Please contact our office (email below) for more information.
