On-Campus Course FAQs

When and where are courses held?
Our weekend courses are held Saturday and Sunday, with the week-long courses running Monday through Friday, from 9:00am-3:00pm. Depending on the topic, you may be meeting in craft or art studios, classrooms, or in the campus forest or fields.
When will I receive detailed information about the course?
All course participants will be emailed detailed information regarding additional course information, four weeks prior to the course start date.
How do I register and make the payment for my course?
To register for a specific course, choose from the categories of on-campus courses, navigate the links to the Course page you desire and select the “Register Now” button. This will take you to a registration form that will collect your personal information, course selection, display optional housing and meal options and be taken to a Payment page.
You'll receive an email confirmation of your course selection.
Please check your Spam or Junk folder for email communications from Mountain Institute to avoid missing confirmation emails and other important information.
If you have any issues registering or making payment, please contact us at: mountaininstitute@warren-wilson.edu
Where can I stay while I’m participating in an on-campus course?
May - June Sessions there will be limited on-campus housing during the May sessions at the St Clair Guest
If you are local to Asheville, you can plan to commute to campus each day for class and there will be ample parking on campus. If you are traveling from elsewhere, there are many lodging options available through Airbnb in the area. We also have discounted rates at nearby hotels (be sure to ask about discounts for folks associated with Warren Wilson College). Please plan to have access to a car in order to come to campus each day (there is no public transportation that will get you to campus).
How many participants are needed to fill the course and what happens if there aren’t enough?
To be held, the courses need a minimum of 6 participants. If a course is canceled due to low enrollment, all payments will be fully refunded.
What is your cancellation policy?
Participants are eligible for a full refund if they notify us, in writing, about their withdrawal on or before four weeks prior to the course start date, minus a $25 administrative fee. No refund is available once the course has started.
