Matt Haugh

Matt Haugh MFA, MA, is an experienced educator and accomplished metalsmith with a proven history of fostering creativity, technical proficiency, and critical thinking in diverse learning communities. He taught metals & ceramics at the secondary level for 9 years and has served as blacksmith supervisor & craft instructor at Warren Wilson College since 2017. His teaching, studio practice and current research focuses on toolmaking and ferrous jewelry that engages the complex materiality, cultures, & social histories of metals and invites new considerations of craft in an expanded historical and methodological field.
