Mushroom Foraging and Appreciation Course Details
Our days would be spent outside as much as possible, rain or shine, with possible field trips to the Mountain to Sea trail (near Asheville) and Pink Beds.
Additional time will be exploring campus and collecting specimens. There will also be some lecture time and some small group time. I think one of the best ways of learning about something is to teach it, so there will be small group work with an opportunity to present to other course participants.
I think eating mushrooms is a critical component to learning about them so there will be the opportunity prepare and cook fungi. It’s a delightful multi-sensory experience that helps connect people with fungi.
