Fatie Atkinson

Fatie has been a professional woodworker for 17 years. He graduated from Haywood Community College’s Professional Craft program in Wood in 2005 under Wayne Raab. After entering a design show to reimage the Adirondack Chair, he was invited to teach a course at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and his design was included in their permanent collection. He has also taught at Warren Wilson College, including a class on shop safety incorporating his one legged stool and a class on designing and building benches. He was recognized with a Niche award in 2006 for his Tuxedo chair and is represented by Grovewood Gallery.
